INTRODUCTION

Every time that you connect to the Internet, you are using online services.  If you are passing information to other people or exchanging information with them, then you are using online communications.  Online services and online communication can be used on any type of equipment, desktop computer, laptop, mobile telephone or tablet.

In this section you will look at the online services and investigate the use of online document systems.

TODAY'S OBJECTIVES

• Understand how you will be assessed in this Unit
• Be able to collaborate with others on a topic of communication
• Discuss some of the different types of online services that are available and produce appropriate revision material
• Be able to explain the benefits of some of the online services which are available by tackling some questions
• Carry out some recap activities
• Take part in a Quiz

How are you Assessed?

Units 1 & 2 will both be exams done on a computer in an exam room.

You all get a different combination of questions.

A Level 2 Pass is about 50%, you should all aim to achieve this.

There are 3 types of question.

Multiple choice – Easy but worth the least amount of marks

Short answer – A bit harder, but worth a bit more.

Long answer – The most difficult, but two of them make up ¼ of the final grade.

HOW WILL YOU BE ASSESSED

You will be assessed through an external assessment in the form of an onscreen test - Let's take a look at what this might look like
